Truck Weight Ban
STATUS:  WEIGHT BAN IS NOT IN EFFECT AT THIS TIME

This weight ban is weather dependent.  It usually begins late in January of each year for a period not to exceed 90 days.  The purpose of the ban is to protect the structure of the roads against the heaving that occurs while thawing by reducing excessive weight on them.  Any vehicle over 10 tons may not drive Village roadways during this time.   Roads are posted when the ban is in effect and fines are levied against offenders.

For more information, refer to Municipal Code:
6-2-3-1: TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF CERTAIN CLASSES OF VEHICLES.

Snowplowing
When snowplowing begins, there are a couple of points to remember:

Watch for children playing near streets

Do not push the snow from your driveway into street

Keep culverts and dry hydrants and fire hydrants free from snow

Report intersections with line of sight difficulty due to snow

Report damage due to plowing to landscaping, edges of pavement and
mailboxes
