On behalf of the men and women of the South Barrington Police Department, I pledge to all citizens that our police officers will serve our citizens to the best of our abilities and enforce local and state laws with impartiality and respect.
The South Barrington Police Department strives to engage our residents to cooperate with police to safeguard our community and our neighborhoods. We need your help to keep our community safe. There are several precautions that homeowners may take to lessen the likelihood of a break-in.
Below are some crime prevention tips to enhance the security of your home. ·Keep lights on outside of your home ·Make sure you lock ALL doors and windows ·If you have a home security alarm system, use it even if it is a short trip to the store ·Keep lights on timers throughout your home ·Replace small screws that hold the lock on both sides of your doors with longer screws ·Tell your neighbors (and the police department) if you are going to be away for vacation. The Police Department offers Vacation Housewatch at the residents’ request. ·Make sure you update your home security alarm system information with the Police ·REPORT ALL SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY TO THE POLICE BY DIALING 911
Respectfully, Chief Michael Deegan
