From 1959 - Today South Barrington came from rural roots and stills maintains its pastoral feel amidst the growth and development of recent years. Incorporated in December, 1959, the Village celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2009. From 131 residents fifty years ago, the census in 2010 reported 4,565 residents while still providing a serene setting for neighborhoods situated near office complexes, restaurants, entertainment, and retail. The South Barrington Conservancy is a beautiful, peaceful area within the Village maintained in its treasured natural state by the Conservancy Commission volunteers.
You are invited to browse the Photo Gallery where you will find The Arboretum Lifestyle Center, a model shopping center of upscale retail, unique restaurants, specialty shops, and sophisticated entertainment venues, including the Gold Coast Theater and Pinstripes Bowling & Bocce Ball. You can also link to AMC 30 Theater. Millrose Restaurant, established many years ago, now enjoys the company of a number of other restaurants including Cooper's Hawk, L'Eiffel Bistrot & Creperie, Ruth Chris, and the Lucky Monk.
Take a look at our many residential subdivisions in the Photo Gallery. Most have homeowner associations that assist through a review committee in maintaining the standard and quality of homes as well as coordinate communication and social events for their neighborhoods.
Office complexes, including Allstate, South Barrington Executive Center, South Barrington Office Center, and offices along Barrington Road provide facilities to many businesses.
